I’m Adam Sigal, a senior machine learning and robotics research engineer based in Montreal. I currently work at Torc Robotics, where I develop learning-based systems for autonomous trucking.

My work sits at the intersection of machine learning, robotics, and the messy details of real-world deployment. I have worked on long-range autonomous-driving datasets and behavior models, robust robotic manipulation, visuotactile imitation learning, LLM-based smart-home agents, and reinforcement learning for social robot navigation.

Previously, I was a senior researcher in embodied AI at Huawei Noah’s Ark Lab and a machine learning and robotics research engineer at Samsung AI Center Montreal. I earned an M.Eng. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McGill University, working with Mila on social robot navigation, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Université de Montréal.

You can find my publications on Google Scholar, connect with me on LinkedIn or X, or send me a message.

I grew up in Calgary, Alberta, but I've lived all over the country. In my free time, my biggest hobby is learning languages. I've learned two to fluency, and I love optimizing the learning process. I'm a big proponent of Anki, and I'm currently working on some auxiliary tools for both languages and ML. Please be excited.
